taimatsu: (I just like black velvet.)
I have a weird problem with my new Mexx skirt. It's pleated at the front and not at the back. The front pleats are fairly lightly held together at the bottom corners with a few turns of thread sewn through. I can't decide whether opr not it's just a basting stitch. As it is, when one moves in the skirt the pleats move at the top but stay stuck flat at the bottom, which is slightly odd. I'm not sure whether I should remove the thread or not. It wouldn't be the end of the world if I did and shouldn't've - I can re-sew it easily. But I couldn't do that in time for this evening, really, so I don't know whether I should try it today or not. If I undo the pleats, will it look odd being pleated at the front and flat at the back?

Comment if you feel able :)

Stitching removed - and it looks like it was the right thing to do. Thanks!

One fu8rther problem re. tonight's outfit: I'm wearing a corset, and I have forgotten one essential accessory - what Marks & Spencer euphemistically calls 'body tape'. Any suggestions where I might get this late on a Friday afternoon, or anything I could use instead, or anyone who's going and has some? If I do nothing I'll probably fall out of the top of the thing at some point during the night...
