Stitching removed - and it looks like it was the right thing to do. Thanks!

One fu8rther problem re. tonight's outfit: I'm wearing a corset, and I have forgotten one essential accessory - what Marks & Spencer euphemistically calls 'body tape'. Any suggestions where I might get this late on a Friday afternoon, or anything I could use instead, or anyone who's going and has some? If I do nothing I'll probably fall out of the top of the thing at some point during the night...

That last sentence doesn't sound like an encouragement for people to actually remember where they've put their body tape to lend it to you ;)

Except people who won't be there?

double sided sticky tape? hmmm, or a loop of micropore tape from boots? I'm not sure, I have in the past just creatively used sticky tape, but it doesn't last so well once I start dancing in a hot sweaty club...better than nothing I guess... Good luck!

Ooh, yes, Micropore would be better than double-sided tape, as it's more likely to stay put as you get hot. Once again though, cotton wool is your friend...

Any department store, Claire's Accessories, anywhere which sells wigs. Failing that, ordinary double-sided tape will work, although it does tend to lose its grip the hotter you get.

Otherwise, don't dance too hard! ;)

It's usually quite near the counter, or somewhere near the make-up. I think they call it "girlie tape". Good luck!

Excellent. You could just go the [livejournal.com profile] jezebel_z route and make an entire corset out of duct tape ;)

This is an accessory I've never come across in my corset-wearing lifetime... what does it do?

I'm getting the impression that it does much the same as duct tape without hurting so much.

Other than that, I eagerly await explanations.
