Have just read 'The Narrative of Sojourner Truth' which is moderately fantastic. Talked to mother on phone. She's buying me an Ikea lampshade and some paper shades for the downstairs front room and upstairs back room. Going to go and peer furtively at 'to-do' lists now.

Must sort out craft stuff, creative skills atrophying. Argh.

Does anyone want to commission a character drawing? I could do with something to focus on. (No promises, but I'll see what I can do). Free, too.

I am a fool.

*hangs head in shame*

What's your feeling on hobgoblins? Hobgoblins with guns?

If you're interested, I can give you a somewhat better idea of what my Shadowrun character looks like; bless [livejournal.com profile] riksowden a thousand times for running the Best Roleplaying Game Ever™. Well, possibly.

Right. He's a pirate, named Mullins. He has green-tinged skin, and is about 5'8" tall, slightly built but a lot of very wiry muscle, kinda thing (and he's a hobgoblin, who have a sort of Middle-Eastern thing going on, with pointy faces and noses and suchlike). He has a sunburst tattoo over his left eye. He tends to dress in regular clothes, with big boots and a bulky ex-Army-type jacket. You might be able to see the hilt of a knife sticking out of one boot and maybe the end of a gun out of the other, but there again you might not -- he keeps them well-hidden, just like his other weapons -- although a belt of throwing knives might work well.

He has dark, beady eyes, and shaves his head -- though may well wear a bandana, pirate-style. He has a large toolkit-type thing he carries most places he goes, and has a tendency to theft using a variety of electronic devices.

If you want an action pose, he tends to fight with a silenced pistol or with a pair of long knives.

Feel free to ignore/alter any/all of this info, it's just there to give you a better idea of what he's like (a vindictive little pirate scumbag prone to braggartry) and how he works in my mind. I'm not going to get all arsey if our visions of the character are different.

Is this character drawing as in "drawing of a character from a series/webcomic/anime/etc"? If so, then I'd like one of Megaera from Phoenix Feathers

If not, then please explain to a poor ignorant scientist ;)

I would quite like a drawing of Strolls in homid form. She basically looks uncannily like me without glasses (that's what Eastern European genetics will do for you) only smaller (she's about 5'2" - I have trouble physrepping this though), a bit more fragile looking, and with proportially wider hips. You've seen her (lack of) dress sense already I believe.

If it's too difficult, or not particularly interesting, that's OK.

Oh, and she's usually smiling.

Oh, and surrounded by little black wolf cubs would be especially cool. I'll shut up now.

OK - she likes bright colours, and lots of them. Big designs, anything striking. Wolves colour vision is a lot less developed than a human's so she's fascinated by how bright things look under human eyes, and clothes are essentially decoration as far as she's concerned. She wouldn't wear anything that might restrict her movement in a fight, however. For some reason at the last Oxford game the Hatfield players christened her "Mildred Hubble" after "The Worst Witch", but I assume they actually meant Miss Cackle. Maybe not - I'm not sure what they were getting at.

Other than being with the cubs, she has a battered old dark blue Citroen 2CV, which she is extremely attached to, and drives extremely badly. She likes Gilbert and Sullivan operetta, and reads the dictionary in her spare time (really - she loves human language - that's why she's so fond of long words).

Does that help at all?

Not necessarily trousers, but a loose skirt or dress. The tie dyed shirt is likely to work, and be paired with something completely inappropriate like a Laura Ashley skirt. Her clothes often have a slightly retro feel - she has a boater that bears an uncanny resemblence to mine, for example.

Earrings tend to be small and practical, and not likely to get caught in anything. Jewelerywise, nothing that would jangle, but probably quite a few rings. She has a large baggy cotton handbag.

Wolves are difficult to draw, specially cubs because they are so intrinsically *active* (unless they're asleep in a pile ;)

That works fine, yes.

She wears her hair long, and usually tied back into a ponytail, but sometimes loose. Shoe-wise, Doc Martens are probably her favourites. And yes, she likes being outdoors, although she finds cities absolutely fascinating.

Lots of wolf cub pics at:

Thanks.
