I wish I had a sewing machine. If I did, I would spend a half-hour now making a big sheet-thing with lots of pockets, and I would hang it on the wall and sort all my junk into it. It would be great. I don't, however, so I can't. *sigh*.

would it be silly of me to suggest?

1) Have less junk
2) Borrow a friends sewing machine
3) Use bags
4) Buy more storage

I just use plastic bags for this kind of thing...

You could always make it by hand. You'd only need to tack the pockets on for it to work, unless it's really teeny-tiny junk which would fall through your tacked stitches.

What you really need, though, is one of the card-index cabinets we have at work, then you could put junk in different little drawers. I think they're giving some away at the moment, actually... do you want me to snaffle one for you? Would you have room for it?

I've long had a rack of those plastic A4 pocketty things and the smaller 10x8" comic bags drawing-pinned to my office wall as a filing system - best place for wage slips, receipts you're going to be able to claim back on someday, etc.

Buy a shoe-tidy - the sort that, you guessed it, has lots of shoe-sized pockets (to drop shoes into vertically) & hangs flat on a wall....

*grins*
