I need IC C/A tie-ins! Help!
Monday, 9 December 2002 01:22 pmIf anyone can think of anywhere else I should post this message to reach likely assistance, please tell me.
I have a new Toreador. She is 13th gen, embraced 1901 in London. Her sire would be likely to be someone she met through the art world - she got noticed for her painting in 1899 aged 19 by someone; this could be an opening for an Embrace two years later aged 21. She was Acknowledged in the London court over the next years, and left the country maybe 15 years later for rural France. I am still sorting details of what happened over the period of the Great War and WWII. She returned to England last week, and showed up in Stoke at the Toreador Ball to meet her clan head and be introduced to people. Her name is Elodie Lebrun (born Elodie Brown) and she speaks with a dodgy French accent. Home domain likely to be London.
I need a sire. Also, if anyone wants to occasionally play a rakish Bohemian-type male French Toreador ghoul, about 28 years old, please shout.
Any help, tips on writing backgrounds, people who hung around the fringes of high society in the last decade of Victoria's reign, or people who've been about in France over the past 80 years, all welcome.

Date: Monday, 9 December 2002 05:51 am (UTC)1901 Paris...hmmm...
On a completely non-Toreador note - if you're feeling brave the adorable Nikita was kicking around Paris at that time - called Alena Alexandrovna. So - if you want an oprichnina tie-in you could have known a very lost, slightly scary, half feral Russian underworld type girlie with no class, dress sense, ability to seduce (this was pre-Veylor) and a kinda of brutal honesty about the way the world worked.
I think that could be fun - but I'm not sure if you want to get to know her after all the horrible things

Sally & her characters...
Date: Monday, 9 December 2002 06:15 am (UTC)WW1 was 1914-1918 in the west, and 1914-1917 on the eastern front (Russia) with the Russian Civil War kicking off in 1917 and going into the early 1920s.
I have this mild fog hanging over Niki's life between 1881 and 1916 when she went back to Russia with just Paris/London hanging about. To be fair you probably wouldn't get a lot of oprichnina tie ins - mostly Niki and maybe Manko (played by
The Oprichnina are a historical Russian secret police type thing, but are also the name of a Russian brujah bloodline who are largely psychopaths. Niki (who Moreton Drake is ALLEGEDLY IN LOVE WITH DESPITE HIS COLD AND BLOODY USELESS...ahem...anyway...) is my PC. Matt Hope plays Manko, another one, and James Moody plays Vasya who is another one of the line.
They are basically very family based, pretty incestuous, with this kind of savage loyalty. They are cool and a lot of fun to play. We just psychologically scarred Steve's PC and he hasn't quite recovered yet, apparently...:)

Date: Monday, 9 December 2002 06:33 am (UTC)That would be quite an emotionally intense time for them to have met, and could lead to some nice back history mebbe.

Date: Monday, 9 December 2002 07:30 am (UTC)You got into trouble, perhaps to the extent that something gribbly was about to happen, and then Niki helped you out briefly, and afterwards said if you needed to get out of the country - well - she was leaving for France the next night. Would you like to come?
Then they could both have left.
I'll try and write something up and send it to you.

Re: The two Toreador lineages I know...
Date: Monday, 9 December 2002 06:37 am (UTC)You could possibly tie-in with the House Diomedes thing - though we are generally a load of useless and talentless poseurs... With pretentions of, well, pretention ;)

Date: Monday, 9 December 2002 07:54 am (UTC)We're poseurs and snobs, we're socialites and butterflies. The house is great - we spend more time being bitchy at each other than we do anything else.
We have a couple of actual artists within the House as well, but we try not to draw too much attention to that...
The write up on the Toreador website is good - catch me online (mIRC is best) and i'll give you the URL...

Date: Monday, 9 December 2002 09:18 am (UTC)And the other possibility is that Alexander is a Patron (and a member of the Plutus guild) and so if you are in need of such...?

Date: Tuesday, 10 December 2002 03:42 am (UTC)Guilds have Ranks.
Apprentice - Every character starts at this level.
Journeyman - You need a minimum of Crafts x3 (in your specific artform) to hold this Rank.
Master - You need Crafts x5 (in your specific artform) to hold this Rank.
You need to work on your Journeyman's Piece - i.e. create a piece of work to be critiqued by a member of Guild Nemesis - if it is found worthy - you are promoted.
Patrons, from Guild Plutus, are the sponsors of your art work who pay for it and such.
Yes you would know that IC.
I expect you'll be going for Journeyman - talk to me and I can help you with it since I'm *grumble grumble* doing mine again for the second time IC.
*mutters about crappy records*
But yeah - You'd start as an Apprentice. :-)

Date: Monday, 9 December 2002 09:23 am (UTC)Elodie might well have done an inter-war Grand Tour-type trip. Would you like to set up one or two particular meeting points/incidents in that period? Switzerland and Austria sound particularly good. Would she have met and *liked* your 'friendly Tremere' or would she have run like hell? :
Re:
Date: Monday, 9 December 2002 09:41 am (UTC)My Tremere genuinely is friendly, dammit! (Like, seriously, not in a "friendly Tremere" kinda way) -- I always envisaged him being friends with Toreador.
What's your email? We should discuss this elsewhere...
