I don't think I've mentioned why I picked 'taimatsu' as a username. It's Japanese and means 'torchlight'. When I was trying to find a nickname for a cosplay mailing list, I chose the Japanese words corresponding to the meanings of my first two names - Lucy> Light> Hikari and Clare> Bright/Clear or Famous> Kagayaki (Bright/Shining). 'Taimatsu' was another related word I came up with. I chose it because it's completely unguessable. Unlike previous nicks - Lucy, LucyK, LCK, Elsie - you'd have to be told it to be able to find this diary.

Well, someone without an LJ, who did not normally read the diaries of those who have me in their friends list, would need to. I cn vaguely control who sees this anyway, and really private stuff is kept friends-only. So it works well enough, and it's not trivially guessabel from outside the system, as it were.
