computer breaking down. It doesn't want to play USB any longer and I am failing to fix it. I'm having to unplug and fiddle with the keyboard and mouse every few minutes, and about every 20 minutes to half our both freeze, leaving me no option but to force reboot.

HELL.

work is going okay, people are nice, I can do the stuff, the phone system is non-threatening, s'good. except the getting up early bit.

Sounds like the usb card (if you have one) might have worked its way a bit loose. If you are any good with insides try reseating the card or get someone to do it for you.

Alternatively, if you've got PS/2 ports for the mouse and keyboard on the back of the thing, you can get little converter things for the connectors.
