Plan for this evening has suddenly become 'DEFROST FREEZER'; I took my packet of mince out to defrost it for tomorrow, and the door won't close. It's so full of ice you can hardly pull out the top drawer. Time to tackle it. But will my housemates bother helping? PRACE BETS NOW!

How much food is in there that you would really be sorry to lose? You're moving soon, right?

I'd chip off enough ice to get the door shut and then leave it, if they're that awful.

It is mostly housemate food. Quite probably long-gone-housemate food. I have DONE it, anyway. :)

Isn't it the other way round; the door won't close and so the freezer has filled with ice? At least that's what tends to happen to me.

Defrosting freezers by breaking nice big smooth-edged chunks of ice off the corners using the blunt side of a knife is sort of fun-ish.
