Crikey, I've been busy. Market on Saturday, as I said, went well, and I made about £23 in the end (and then I bought some of Claire's badges, so it's a bit less, but hey...) The evening with Rikk and Heather was lovely, and then I went home to collapse. Art came over on Sunday - we had a nice lunch at Bar Med, did some shopping, and went back to mine where I promptly collapsed in a heap with a headache - too much sun, I think. Must acquire non-crazy sunhat. So I wasn't great company, but he seemed to be okay with this; we took some more photos of my jewellery, and in the evening I roused myself to cook pasta with sausage and stuff. A good day, in all. :)

Today I got up at 9, still slightly woozy, and spent the morning clearing up my enormous piles of bead crap. I have got much of it sorted, which is great, and I have swept my desk clear. I bought a fourth clear compartmented box yesterday, a small one, and it now has all the semi-precious stone chips in. There are no less than four compartments for haematite things, because people are apparently keraaaazy for haematite. All three pairs of earrings I sold involved haematite in some way.

I have my first proper commission for jewellery - [livejournal.com profile] slappersire has ordered a quantity of STUFF including some remakes of things I sold at the market; yesterday's shopping involved buying some supplies for that, though I still have to brave Hobbycraft for more haematite sphere beads. A workmate of [livejournal.com profile] purpleheather has also enquired about something - I hope my reply isn't too wordy. I've added a few more pictures to the website - when I have time I need to make it look a bit better and probably divide it into sections.

But my focus for the next fortnight is my university stuff - I have a deadline a week on Thursday for three essays and four typography projects, so I'm going to be busy. I know what I'm doing, though, and if I keep in mind that I'm studying this stuff because I enjoy it, I should be okay. And Dave is visiting me on the weekend of the 27th, so I am very happy indeed :)

Gosh. So when I sent you email a week or so ago expressing the belief that your term had probably ended by now, I was not merely wrong but gobsmackingly, breathtakingly wrong-of-doom? :-)

but that doesn't mean I don't have stuff to do in the holidays!

I can see that general studying, revision and catching-up might be things someone might usefully do in university holidays, but if they're actually assigning you deadlines that require you to fill your holidays with work, I'm inclined to think they've missed the point of the word "holiday"! But good luck with it.

Maybe we could meet after my deadline and before my exams :)

Sounds good to me :-)

Haematite is the student's best friend.

If you aren't too busy with course work tomorrow will be Exalted :)

It's black and shiny, cheap, unisex and jazzes up any outfit without drawing too much attention. Every single one of my housemates for my first two years at Uni had at least one piece of haematite jewlery.

Plus black is the new black.

*grins* no worries.

Would you mind giving me some plot? I lost mine ;-)

Sure. Where do you want plot for, what sort of players and any preferences on scale of plot?

The plot is for an alchemical city (own world) that is slowly dying. Last session the players found that neural nodes in the city were tampered with, they had prayer scrolls in them that appeared to be written in the language of the dead - they think that this is what's causing the problem, but they can't take them out without potentially harming him (the city) more.

I'm looking for a quick one session plot to fill the gap, give them something to just have fun with before they start hitting the really heavy stuff.

The players like to mess around a bit and prefer roleplay over combat.

Only problem is Lucy is one of the players, so my email is hmv_carrot@yahoo.com

I wasn't expecting you to actually say yes. I shall give it some thought and see what I can come up with. When you say "Own world" do you mean that from the point of view of the exalted (ie its creation), the alchemicals (ie its in autowassit) or from yours (ie its an exalted real world cross)?

I wasn't expecting you to say yes either! But any help is always good.

It's a world I made up myself. The basics are that all Exalted except dragon blooded exist, Exalts used to keep completely seperate from the world in order to stop themselves from dominating it, but that's changed recently. But yeah, they don't have to hide who they are.

Drive-by links to supplies...

http://www.kernowcraft.com (Based in Cornwall. Good for gemstones.)
http://www.creativebeadcraft.co.uk/ (Also have a shop just past the end of Carnaby Street. Cheaper than Hobby Craft if you buy direct.)

DO NOT USE http://www.beadmaster.com/, they are RUBBISH. (They have nice haematite shapes, but nothing is ever in stock, and they substitute things you didn't want without asking, and then you have to bugger about sending stuff back. This has happened to me EVERY TIME I have ordered from them since 2001.)
