I won't be going to Bardcamp this year, as I cannot stand to be around [livejournal.com profile] borusa, [livejournal.com profile] libellum or [livejournal.com profile] elise for the required period, let alone act with them (unless I get to use live steel weapons, of course, in which case, bring it on!). I wish it understood that this is all Robert's damn fault, and that I am very miserable about it. If you have any kindness in your being please keep your discussions of Bardcamp out of my ken, both before and after the event. I really don't want to know how much fun it all is.

If anyone can suggest anything else distracting I could be doing over the weekend of 5-8 Janunary, do let me know.

I'm sure I can find ways to distract you in the New Year ;p

I vaguely remember someone asking us to block ebuddy.com since it was a workaround that allowed you to run messenger over http - possibly worth a try <-:

Googletalk might be an option. Not for MSN obviously but for chatting. I believe it has a web based interface that would work. Of course, I suspect you are in the library becasue you should be doing some work or something?

And I'm sure as everybody else has said some amusement could be provided if you need it.

Alternatively, in IE and most Firefox, webmessenger.msn.com usally works nicely (or, y'know, gets eaten by pop-up blockers).

Seconded. If you positively, absolutely must use the wretched messenger, the webmessenger version is quite handy.

Hotmail has a baby MSN function without any downloading required.

Not that I get to see it any more, since UI use the LiveMail Beta instead (mostly nicer than hotmail, but doesn't have a messenger-tyope thing attached...)

I don't know of anything specific happening that weekend, but you're always welcome to come and visit us (or hide in our spare room). *hug*

Sorry to hear that, was looking forward to you being there. We'll see you in other places though, no doubt - planning to get down to England sometime in the next month or so, and hopefully you'll be around when we are :)

That weekend is a zeitgeist weekend - there will be garou and cam-anarch games going on. I know it's all rp-y and geeky, but I'm sure you'd be welcome and it's a very different crowd to the bardcamp crew, as far as I know.

I'm sorry you won't be there - we'll have to try and meet up in London when I'm about. Please grab scheduling time when I manage to put up a schedule...

Come visit me! I can take you to Powell's City of Books, which is a 5-level full-city-block-sized used and new bookstore. Tis heaven :D

Very sad to hear this but you've likely made the most sensible and best choice. Bardcamp won't be the same without Lucy. :(

Obviously I'm not free to distract you that weekend, but we should arrange some small readthrough that you can come to sometime.

If you ever feel the need, come visit me and Jeff. We're a stone's throw away from you... I think! There's always space for peeps to come visit :D, hopefully I'll see you at Helen's at some point for the sewing circle in a couple of weekends time :)

Sorry that we won't be seeing you. :( You will be missed, and so will your lovely singing. But I hope there will be other occasions.

You will be very much missed.

Here's wishing you though a wonderful first weekend in January doing something totally different and at least as cool, if not cooler.

*many, many hugs*

Sorry to hear that :(

It's unfair - hope you manage to find something good for that weekend, looks like you have several offers already, at least.

Other readthroughs must be organised - I was looking forward to the opportunity of acting opposite you a bit more.
