Singers required!

The marvellous mirabehn is holding a singthrough of The Mikado on Saturday 3rd December in Colnbrook. We need more nice people to sing! There will be a quantity of utterly fantastic people there, and lots of music and fun (and I might even wear my kimono), and a tea-party in the afternoon, and it will be GREAT. So if you like singing and might be interested, please drop a comment here and I will put you in touch with the people in question.

Near Slough. There are buses to it. Unfortunately Robert isn't going, so I can't instantly organise lifts from stations, though with a bit of correspondance it might be possible.

Argh, I would love to but I am trying really hard to be realistic about what I take on atm & I think that it would be too difficult to fit in (especially as I have two pieces of coursework due the following week) :-(

Unfortunately busy (and also don't knoww hat TheMikado is); but ifyou're a singer, would you like to go carol singing sometime? I can sing harmony to a bunch of carols, and properly done carols are good. I don't want to ask for money; just turn up and sing (or play) for people.

The Mikado is a rather fun Gilbert and Sullivan operetta.

I sing a rather soft and breathy alto; carol singing sounds good, though ideally I'd find a group doing it for charity and join them. I can do descants to a fair few myself, and play guitar well enough to accompany most things. I'm definitely interested in working something out.

In many ways,it doesn't matter if we don't sing for anyone, but I haven't done any decent singin for a while and it'd be nice to get together and sing/play. When are you free? Weekends are probably best asHanbury would like to sing also,also we can't do this weekend.

I'm not free this weekend. The one after is the first in December and contains the above-mentioned Mikado singthrough, so my voice will be all in use. Could be free on 10-11 December, I think. It would be nice to get a group of people together, whatever we sing. I could clear up our living room and have a small singing-thing there, perhaps?

It is too early for carols yet! it's not even Advent! What else do you like singing? I can do assorted folksongs...

I'm very tempted, but I don't know The Mikado and I'm not sure if I trust my singing voice. On the plus side I not in work on that Saturday.

I don't know the Mikado, so no worries there! (Although I will be trying to listen to it before then, if I possibly can.) You don't have to be a fabulous singer - this is about joining in and enjoying yourself. If you do want to come along, comment on Elly's post here and let her know whence you came and what voice you sing, and she'll fill you in. Do come - it will be lots of fun and the people are great :)
