Phew. Have just finished proof-reading 103 pages of Kul-Tha songbook. Brain = mush. Heather has been fantastic at comprehending my emailed notes, which started off as things like

Page0019 - Can we make 'Frontier man' 'Frontiersman' please? You can delete the word 'Chorus' as the italics make it unnecessary. Line two of chorus, space needed in "badger'til". You could put the line break there, actually, and do the same with "'til the morning light" as you will have a spare line when 'Chorus' is gone.

and ended up as things like

p0095 - v1l1 br 'upset'. v1l2 br 'long'. line 4 is fine. v2l1 'her'.

It has been a good weekend. On Saturday I didn't do much till the afternoon, when I went off in my shiny pretty clothes to see kake and doop and bob in Croydon for a delightful delicious dinner party. There was a lot of food. And then there was more food, and more food, and cheese, and wine, and juice, and more food. It's a long long time since I've eaten as much as I did on Saturday, and it was *all* fantastic. I particularly loved the sushi, the pepper-and-cheese things, the ham-and-melon things and the sunflower seeds, which were magnificent. The people were lovely - I knew some of them and not others, and it was great to meet the new ones and see the old ones again. And bob is extremely nice, and doop was looking devastatingly attractive (as usual) and kake is just divine. :) Ian and Jacqui are similarly wonderful, as they drove me all the way to Raynes Park at hideous-o'clock in the morning.

On Sunday I got up and was surprised to find that my father was home from his holiday, with his girlfriend whom I have not previously met. I don't think I would have chosen to encounter her first while wearing nothing but purple knickers and a massive penguin-books 'Vile Bodies' t-shirt and very messy hair, but it was bearable nonetheless. I ironed things and dashed off to Alexandra Palace for brunch with Robert and my aunt and uncle. There was yet more food - this time grapefruit segments, and smoked salmon and scrambled egg, and piles of toast, and pastries, and strawberries and blueberries with creme fraiche. I have no words to express the muchness of indescribably delicious food that I ate this weekend.

After the brunch we considered heading to Dreamspace, but it was awkward to get there and rainy, so we went to Ikea instead. We bought boxes and a basket for Shards, and kitchen implements, and a lampshade, and I bought a little clip light for my desk, and bulbs, and frames, and a multitude of marvellous things, and for not all that much, too. Then we came home and collapsed.

Today I have been mostly proof-reading, but I have in addition cooked fantastic tomato/mushroom/olive/sweetcorn/balsamic vinegar pasta, and sorted out how much I owe Robert for the Ikea stuff. Now that I'm mostly done with the songbook, I'm going to await final details from Heather and then go and sew.

Productivity! It's great!

Line two of chorus, space needed in "badger'til".

Since "till" is a proper English word there's never any good reason for writing it "'til".

It's still changeable for the final version if needed!

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=till has interesting comments on the word. I suspect other people alreayd knew this but I always assumed that 'til was an abbreviation of until and that till became a word after until did. Looks like I couldn't have been more wrong. :)

We got there! I think had you kept up the detailed notes it would have been a week Wednesday and our brains would have been dripping out of our ears.

As it stands, we have a fantastic songbook that now needs holes poking in it, and 10 whole days to sing the songs in!

Thanks for yesterday - we are Tag Team Filking Superheroes!
