I. Have. A. Kimono.

So I do.

It is a formal five-crested black furisode kimono with a pattern of dyed pine branches with gold embroidery on a crepe silk with a smooth red silk lining. It is unutterably gorgeous. It's my birthday present from my father.

I just have to buy an obi now, and decide how/where to display it. (While I will wear it on appropriate occasions, there aren't a whole lot of those.)

Donna wants a kimono really badly. If only I could afford to get her one for her birthday! We can't seem to find any in our price range :/

It's lovely :)

Oh, it's beautiful!

Okay, I think I will have to start musing on what readthroughs I can organise in order to justify you wearing that...

Mikado singthrough, anyone? *grins*

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh.

I just so happen to have a spare gold obi lying around - I made ot to go with [livejournal.com profile] kilireth's kimono, but it was the wrong colour. (D'oh.) It's completely plain.

If you want to have a look at it, you're more than welcome, unless you're looking for something a little more fancy! (Or just not gold!)

Yes, you are, but that doesn't negate the fact that your kimono is awesome.

Absolutely gorgeous! What kinds of occasions are 'appropriate' for wearing a kimono?

I'll ask around Aikido people, for the specialist dry cleaners that can be trusted with the care of formal Japanese clothing. It's quite a struggle maintaining a Hakama, never mind such a complex and beautiful garment as yours.
