Hello, people. I still exist.

I have been to work regularly and reliably since I last posted, which has got to be good news. Since Thursday my manager has been on holiday, so I have been sole support to the CEO. It's been fun - I love it when they hand me four pages of scribbled boxes and lines and say 'Make this into a Powerpoint presentation! You have one hour! We're presenting it to the client this afternoon!' It's even better when I do it, they go away and look at it, and come back and say 'Make seven copies! No, no corrections needed!' :) If only I got to do this more often...

My weekend was good; dinner on Friday night with (two of my five) wonderful godparents, which was fantastic and yummy and filled with laughter and Japanese and Polish and chicken and happiness; then lazing about on Saturday in Wimbledon while male relatives watched rugby, plus glorious glorious hot wonderful shower (we will so get our boiler fixed soon, no, really); then dinner, Saturday night, with Robert and his family for his sister's birthday (Kurdish restaurant in Highbury - delectable food and excellent company); then the sleep of the exhausted, followed by breakfast (an unusual occurence in the life of your correspondant) and a HOT BATH. Mmmmmmm. (We are now at Sunday morning. Keep up at the back there.) So we drove home to Reading, and Robert went to the Changeling game, and I lounged about until time to head off to Oxford. I had totally failed to fix in my memory the time at which the game was starting - I was woried it might have been 6.30 - so to arrive and find I was in plenty of time for the 8pm start was wonderful. I missed the newWoD voting, but it went the way I'd have voted anyway, so no worries there. The game itself was great - Clare (my character, for any new readers) was intensely frustrated for most of the evening, but has too much respect for authority (and is too much of a wuss) to do anything about the shambles that was the 'trial'. The fight at the end cemented her loyalty to Q; he might be a nutjob now, but he's her nutjob and she's not walking away from someone who's stood by her so many times.

I'm going to be hammering out a downtime pretty soon. Steve, Chris, Krys - discussion sometime? :)

And now it's Monday again. It's too cold fo yoga, so I have skipped that. I have washed up the sink (no, really, the sink) and enough utensils and bowls to cook pasta. Tomorrow, I visit [livejournal.com profile] weds; Wednesday, Japanese class. That's going pretty well, actually. I'm finally making a concerted attempt to learn the hiragana, and am succeeding. On my computer monitor at work I have a little list of some favourite Japanese nouns in hiragana, with little pictures next to them, to aid the absorption process. It's working! I feel good :)

Feeling a bit crappy today (smacked the new hole wrong) so am not cleaning, so it may be untidy when you come over.

God, this month has been bad for tidy.

I'm free anytime for downtime chat (or any other kind). MSN or e-mail are the most reliable ways to get me though others may work. Not sure how much help Martin'll be though. He's been very distracted for most of this year so far really. :)
