Friday, 8 October 2004 07:48 pmLa la la, the dress problem is solved! Well, I think I have worked out it'll be okay if I use the stretchy faux-chamois rather than the non-stretchy heavy brushed cotton I was trying out the other day. This is good, because it's a light buckskin colour, which is what I want, rather than the dark chocolate brown of the heavy fabric.
The downside is that I need to make leggings out of stretchy fabric, and I probably won't have enough over when the dress is done t make them match. I have some black stretchy faux-chamois, though, which I could use instead.
So far I have cut out the bodice, sewn the back seam, and stiffened the front hem where the lacing loops will eventually go (though if I can use buttons and loops instead I might, as I want to be able to put it on nice and easily, like a coat - hence the wrapped skirt plan). Invisible sticky hem tape is so nice :)
