I have realised I haven't updated publically for ages. Hello! I'm still here, I'm fine, the funeral and aftermath were okay, and I have been doing evening classes which are going well. I am in Reading at the moment (aaargh must go and phone father, back shortly)
...
(phonecall made, all sorted.)
I got a bit stressed about the state of the house last night, so instead of going out as we usually do on a Thursday Robert and I stayed in, cleared up the front room (which now has floor visible!) and then ordered pizza and watched half of The Fifth Element (which I hadn't seen before). I was going to go back to Wimbledon today, but instead Robert is taking the afternoon off to do more clearing up with me, which is extremely wonderful of him. :)
This weekend there is Robert's father's 60th birthday party (must purchase present) on Saturday night, and on Sunday my godmother is being ordained a deacon. On Monday I'm meeting a friend in London and then returning to Reading for YOGA on Monday night.
On Wednesday I had my first Japanese class of the year. Five of last year's six are carrying on with it, but only three of us were there that night, along with four new people. Two of the new ones have lived in Japan and one has a Japanese wife, so they are somewhat intimidating for the rest of us! I couldn't even remotely remember how to say the date, and I was quite slow at stringing together sentences in different tenses - but I could remember the actual constructions we were revising, so I was quite pleased. I'll try to do more hiragana practice over the next few days, and organise last year's notes into a useable format.
