I am trying to work out the best options for travel to Orly in Paris early on 23 August and back either late on 25 or early on 26 August. It's so confusing! I could fly from zillions of airports; but I'm only finding one flight to Orly itself and that's on the Monday evening, which is no good.

Is there an easy way to do this, other than begging my dad?

Why Orly? Why not CDG?

Yes, but given that flying into Orly is difficult, you could fly into CDG and get the RER B to Orly - it basically seems to go straight there, give or take.

Ah, beat me to it. The RER is a wonderful construction of transportion. Just be aware of commuters at rush hour in central Paris (which you will pass through), if you've got much luggage. 'Cause, squish.

You could get the Eurostar to Gare du Nord, which should be a more frequent service though possibly more expensive than flying...

but you'd be waiting that long with flight check ins and luggage stuff anyway....

Yeah, but that's three hours from city to city, without hassle for checking in and out, luggage, customs etc. - last time I went on the Eurostar, they did all the passport checks mid-journey. I don't think it'd work out significantly longer time-wise (especially because you just have to get to Waterloo rather than an out-of-London airport).

According to my manipulation of the Eurostar website, it's about 69 pounds for the round trip, which compares very favourably to the amounts I was able to get travelling from sensible London airports (i.e. NOT LUTON).

^^ What they said. Orly is screwy, I think the only flights to there are from City of London.
