New character. Mage. No tradition yet. Likely focus music, plus mild obsession with roses.

I think it makes sense for her actual magic-method to involve playing music; but the obvious instrument is the guitar, and it's really a little large to bring to games, although I could if necessary. Does anyone else play or know someone who plays a character who uses an instrument as an integral part of their character? If so, do you/they *actually play it* at games?

Just trying to sort out details before I dive headlong into the well of traum that is poor Clare's brain right now.

Either way can work, there's one guy who plays a toreador who carries a lute(or mandolin?) with him and I believe he can play, when I was sorting out a wraith character who was a musician I decided I'd make him a clarinet player for the same reasons.

So, basically it's up to you whether it's a hassle or not, personally actual music as a focus would be good for atmosphere : )

Of course, the DC should check about Public Entertainment License stuff with the venue - I think up to 2 people is ok before they need one but I can check.

Up to two people is correct.

PEL sucks big time and there's a campaign to get it changed...

For the record, I have 2 characters with performance (Guitar) in them and I'm just waiting until I get good enough to play in public :)

Two people performing simultaneously to an audience.

So you can have an 'open mike' evening without one, but you can't have a singaround at a folk club, when everyone sings..

Stupid and rubbish rule, stifling music in this country...(moan moan, whinge whinge)

Cool. Don't see why you can't do it.

I keep meaning to play a Left wing protest singer ala Billy Bragg, but I can't find an appropriate venue.

And people are heartily sick of my "wideboy" act. (And Duck Shoot)
