I have written, typed and printed my grievance letter. It is very long - 2454 words which is 4 pages of A4. It's damn good though.

I have to go into work tomorrow because Personnel have not given me formal notice yet (or at least that's Robert's view, and he's most likely right). I won't be working my notice unless they tell me I must, though, so as soon as they give me that letter I'm out of there.

It is very, very nice to have the Robert back. I am much calmer now, though I have not really considered the future yet at all.

Oh yes, and watched the Boat Race this afternoon. Oxford were robbed. Darn Tabs.

Yeah, Oxford were robbed, if by robbed you mean that their cox couldn't work out how to make the boat go straight.

Or the meaning of the words "Get out of the other boat's water" :)

PS - My cousin was the Cambridge cox, so I feel I can be a little biased :)

I think that's probably fair comment - Oxford moved over too early and that's what lead to the clash, Cambridge were just belligerent in not wanting to avoid it, and it was unfortunate for Oxford that they were the ones who suffered from it.

At the same time, if Cambridge hadn't had a HUGE START at the beginning due to the drifting during the delay to the off, Oxford would probably have been moving into clear water by that stage.

My excuse for being biased is that I went to Campion Hall.

Eh? Oxford got half a length up within the first few yards, didn't they? Or was I watching a different boat race?

They started a quarter of a length back. They pushed very hard from the start to make it up and open up a lead.

Yes, Oxford got a half to two thirds of a length up really quickly. My point is that if they hadn't started from a couple of feet behind, that good start would have meant their stroke would have been ahead of Cambridge's bow, and there would have been no clash.

Do keeping going in and working until they officially tell you not to. It will make you look infinitely more mature/superior to the twits and lend credence to your grievances. *hugs*

Good for you; I hope the letter describes everything you had to endure to your own satisfaction.

*hugggggggs*

I'm so glad you have a Robert back now. And I agree that working until Personnel say otherwise is likely a good move.

Oxford were robbed.

Haha!

Although I didn't actually watch it so I can't comment on the general pattern of the race... ;-)

A quotation from (I kid you not) the Newbury Dramatic Society Revue:

"The Oxford rowing crew. 8 minds with but a single thought - if that."

*will stop being rude and naughty now ;) *
