Questions from Rik
Friday, 6 February 2004 04:22 pm1- was your education 'worth it'? would you do it again? the same? would you appreciate it more now?
Well, my education up to A-level was definitely worth it, and I'd do it again pretty much the same. My education after A-level - no, I think the bad elements of my experiences at Oxford generally outweighed the good ones. If I were doing it again, I'd take a gap year and go to Leeds. (That means I wouldn't meet people who had an immense and positive impact on my life, but in academic terms it would be far better.)
2- what attracted you to music? why do you play?
I have played the flute since I was 9 - I have always been interested in music. I don't know what first attracted me to it, though my parents were a significant factor in getting me flute lessons. These days, I play the guitar because it's relaxing, it helps me think about things which are important to me, and it helps me explore and better understand the kinds of music I like listening to.
3- what are you greatest strengths and weaknesses?
ugh, I don't know. I procrastinate too much. But I'm very kind and caring.
4- is it better to live a content and peaceful life, or a full and exciting life where you know great pain as well as great joy?
Probably the first.
5- dusk or dawn? are you a child of the day, or a night owl?
I am not a morning person. At all.
I am crap at asking people questions, so I don't promise to do so. You can ask me to try if you like, though. And anyone is free to ask me more questions themselves.
