Oh hell.
Have arranged to be at the Camarilla National for the Mage game from 12-3 on Saturday 7th May, in Coventry. That's fine. Plan is currently that I will then head down to Cambridge for the CCF party and thence (the same evening, I expect) to London in order to be with my family on my birthday, Sunday 8th May, when we are having a big lunch. It will be a stretch doing all that travelling in a day, but that's why I have an iPod and a rucksack to fill with books.
Now I find there is a second Mage game on the Sunday, from 12-3. I can't possibly go as I have already arranged the birthday lunch and my godmother wouldn't be able to make it if I moved it to evening. When there was only one game I knew I was going to be there for all the significant events. Now I know for sure I won't be, and it makes me feel there's no point going just for half the total game time. It's not a complete-in-itself game now, it's split and I'll only be there for part 1. I'll miss the tying up of loose ends in the second part; it won't make narrative sense for my characher to be present for the first section but absent for the second bit.
I might as well not go at all. Why can't people stick to the published plan? If it had been soft RP that was definitely optional and wouldn't have major ramifications, it would've been fine. But no - whole game announced less than four weeks in advance.
I know I'm being crap about this and it ought to be a good thing there's more sanctioned game available. But it's completely fucked up my plans and I have no idea how best to handle it.
Gah. Very tempted to just skip the whole damn thing and go to CCF instead.
