Have been offered work for this afternoon (by Huntress) but I can't get there in time. It's in Camberley, and the trains are hourly at 12 minutes past the hour. Given I got the call at 11.45, I'd have had to rush out immediately in order to get a bus and be sure of getting to the station on time; but that gives me no time to prepare, get skirt ironed and clothes on, hair done, etc. I really need an hour, 45 minutes minimum, between hearing I need to go out and actually leaving for work. Another time, perhaps.

Monday, 6 October 2003 05:37 pmI have a job. Temporary work, from next monday, two or three weeks, reception/phone answering, c.6.25/hr, 9-5.30, telecoms company. Am worried about switchboards for hysterical raisins, but will either get over it when I actually get my hands on one, or not, and will cease to do the job. Neither of which is a problem.
So YAY, job, money, yay.
