stupid lj ate my post
Monday, 6 October 2003 05:37 pmI have a job. Temporary work, from next monday, two or three weeks, reception/phone answering, c.6.25/hr, 9-5.30, telecoms company. Am worried about switchboards for hysterical raisins, but will either get over it when I actually get my hands on one, or not, and will cease to do the job. Neither of which is a problem.
So YAY, job, money, yay.

Weird...
Date: Monday, 6 October 2003 09:52 am (UTC)HAVE JOB.
Next Monday, temp work, receptionist/phone, town centre, c.6.25/hour, two or three weeks, 9-5.30. Platinum know I need the 16th off for the University job interview.
Yes yes yes. Yes. It is switchboard work, which makes me nervous, but I told Stephanie I hadn't used one and she said that was okay. If it doesn't work out, I don't have to keep doing it, right?
They are right opposite Reading Station, apparently, and they are Euphony Communications (http://www.uk.euphony.com/EN/main.htm).
I am nervous about switchboards, because in my first work experience ever, at my dad's company, I fouled up transferring a call dramatically and had an irate guy on the phone shouting at me. It wasn't entirely my fault, but it has made me worry. I can do phones, I know I can, in small companies - Mill Court had four extensions, EGTE about three - but a big one with a switchboard... Well, I'll see how it goes. Either it will be fine and I will get over my fear and ad a new skill to my CV, or it won't go so well and I will apologise and let Platinum place someone else in the post. Which is not the end of the world.

Date: Monday, 6 October 2003 10:41 am (UTC)Congratulations on getting a job and some money! I'm sure the switchboard thing won't be nearly as scary as you think. As you say, either you'll get over it or you'll stop doing the job. You'll be fine. :)
*hugs you*
