Do you have custom friends groups? You should be able to get further back if you have fewer people in each view, as it were...

No - Friends' pages only display the past two weeks' worth of entries, regardless of how many people are on the list.

skip-980 is an absolute limit too, though. It's not as if 28th December is 2 weeks ago, so your plan would still work for some entries.

No, sorry :) This was only because I was at my parents' - they don't know about this journal, so I have to read my friendspage surreptitiously in a browser they don't use, infrequently. So I just didn't check often while I was in London. Now I'm back, I'm reloading the page at five-minute intervals, same as usual. I have nooooo life.
