This message is addressed to everyone who is reading this post.
I want you to post anything that you want.
A n y t h i n g.
Post something random on your mind, a story, a song I should download, a film I should see, a recipe, a secret, a confession, a fear, a love, a photograph, a question - anything (also if you've just added me, introduce yourself!)
Post twice if you'd like (or however many times the mood takes you), and then put this in your LJ to see what your friends (and perhaps others who you don't even realize read your LJ) have to say.

Hi. I'm Trish. We're about the same age, and I'm a college student too. I live in Indiana.

I added you to my list a while ago, but never introduced myself formally. So here I am.

Go download something by ... grr! so many! ... The Strokes. They rock.

Oh, cool, you're one state away from me (I used to be a housemate of Taimatsu's; I now live in Lansing, Michigan). Small world and all that.

It's three minutes past seven and I'm still at work. This is not good, although I'm at least about to leave.

In other news, 'twas nice to meet you at [livejournal.com profile] mirabehn's place, though we didn't get the chance to chat much.

I'm looking at the card you sent us right now. It sits on the top shelf in our living room along with a crossstitch one [livejournal.com profile] imc's mother made for [livejournal.com profile] smallclanger, and one of the ultrasound pictures (plus two miniature pianos, some candles, dried flowers and a glass pot). They're pine shelves. We really must put some more up ("More??", [livejournal.com profile] imc will say, but I don't think he realises how non-babyfriendly this house still is). On the shelf below there's a collection of china ducks (pate dishes), some more dried flowers, a glass apple and a glass mushroom. I have had those for about 15 years and still have no idea why anyone thought giving me a glass mushroom was a good idea. I don't even eat mushrooms. But it's slightly pearlised and rather pretty, and I'm attached to it now. The shelf below that has a bunch of Kipper books and other board/picture books (and a couple of biographies that are mine and I just haven't put them on a real bookshelf yet). Below that there's a wedding photograph, a pic of me and my best friend taken about 11 years ago, a wooden crocodile, a disposable camera that I must take into Boots, a lot of software, some nail varnish, two sheep and a tape recorder.

Hmmm, was that interesting?

Tescos salami is really nice.

So are their scotch eggs and rotisserie chickens.

If you haven't seen it, you should see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. It's out of print and hard to find, though. Or, if you can find someone putting on the play version of it, go see that.

And now for something random.

Once upon a time, when my sister and I were young, we decided we were going to make bubble solution and blow bubbles on the back porch. Unfortunately, we ended up spilling the stuff on the brand new carpet. Our mother had just recently given us death threats regarding said brand new carpet, and keeping it clean. We tried to clean it up, but it just foamed up and got worse, so we finally just left it alone and waited for our mother to come home and get mad. By the time she got home, though, it had dried and wasn't very visible. About ten or fifteen years later we finally confessed, and she admitted that she'd never noticed.

Yes, the play is in print. I own a copy. But the movie, to which I was referring, has been out of print for ages.

...hey. That's not fair. You guys get all the good stuff on that side of the pond.

Thanks for the link - now I'm trying to decide if I should import the VHS or keep waiting (and waiting and waiting) for it to be released on DVD. Decisions, decisions.

Hi there! I've no idea how we ended up on each others list, possibly via Chris Venus, I keep seeing him posting you?

I'm Rachael but I get called Rei, I'm a member of the Oxford RPGSoc, I like anime, I'm doing maths. Maths is fun *glares at non-believers*. Hats and socks are also excellent things.

Tch, fangirls. (Hi, Lucy!)

I liked the slightly more risque version of this one where everyone is invited to comment anonymously.

Life is beautiful when you think about what's really important.

And what's really important is loving others and loving yourself...

It's love that makes the world go around. :D

Believing that for the past week or so, I don't think I've ever been so happy...

Some recent movies I've seen which I recommend:

Gregoire Moulin contre L'humanite'
Le Libertine

(Both the above .fr, obviously, and both spectacularly funny) and, much more seriously:

The Magdalene Sisters.

All recommended.
