Sunday, 19 October 2003 08:14 pmSpent weekend with parents for brother's birthday. Was very very good. Got fed lots; dinner on Friday with family and JEremy and Nora (old family friend and his girlfriend), who turned up randomly and were pressed to stay and eat. Nora has a new job as HEather McCartney's PA, and Jez has been doing some deputising for the marimba player on the Lion King musical in London, so they're both in good shape :)
On Saturday Robert came down and we all lazed about a lot; in the evening we went to see Stones In His Pockets at the Ambassadors Theatre. That was rather wonderful - it's a tragicomic two-hander and we all loved it. Recommended. Am wanting to compare it with Brian Friel's Translations, also set in Ireland and examining interactions between locals and a group of outsiders, and involving tragedy and love story. Could be quite fruitful. Maybe I should do English degree after all.
Sunday, again, lazy. Have nicked lots more craft stuff from cupboards in bedroom, muahaha. Mother bought me new/old clothes from Red Cross second-hand shop - have denim skirt, gorgeous grey trousers and lovely red knitted top. Mmm. Work tomorrow will be nice and warm. Also have box of mostly food goodies from mother, and a mysterious envelope not to be opened till Nov 30th which I guess is an Advent calendar :)
Am so looking forward to getting paid on Friday. Must spend money exceedingly carefully.

Date: Monday, 20 October 2003 07:06 am (UTC)Wondering how far you'r got on my Angel constume, and how you can get it to me. I'm willing to travel to Reading at the weekend (maybe sunday) if it's likely to be wearable by then, and see how it fits and if any last minute adjustments need to be made and so on. :)
Must compensate you with a present for all your efforts. :)

Date: Monday, 20 October 2003 10:31 am (UTC)When do you leave for Whitby?
One other thing - do you want the skirt portion to stand away from your legs? If we don't add anything underneath it (petticoat/hoop/stiffening) it will drape around your legs. Is that what you'd like? What footwear will you have on?

Date: Tuesday, 21 October 2003 05:36 am (UTC)I'm leaving for Whitby on Wednesday next week, which is why I thought Sunday would be a geat time to collect it. At present, I don't have any job interviews on the Monday or Tuesday (this may change) so I may be free to collect it later, if thats easier for you.
I'd prefer the skirt to be loose and drapy, so don't add any stiffeners. I'll be going barefoot, as all my footwear is big and black and just wouldn't match at all.
Oh, and you're wonderful :) :)

Date: Friday, 24 October 2003 10:31 am (UTC)As for picking it up, I will be making it on Saturday, finishing bits on Sunday morning, and possibly going out to play two roleplay games on Sunday afternoon/evening. This is not set in stone, though, so if Sunday turns out to be the only time we can meet, that can be changed. Monday and Tuesday I am working till 5.30, home usually about 6.20pm, and both evenings are free. My house is Very Very Messy, which makes me not want to ask you here, but I do see that you coming over here is the only sane way to get this properly fitted and finished :)
What we will need to do is have you come over not just to pick it up, but to have it fitted on you and then have me frantically sew darts in it/alter the sleeves/shorten it/whatever. So you either need to plan to come over/meet up *twice*, or plan to come over once and then have it delivered to you somehow (I have local friend also in fashion show, this is possibility) or plan to come over early for fitting and hang around for a while.
Email me! Soooooon! :)
