I thought I'd record the cocktail which happened on my trip to Romania when I was seventeen. We were on the return trip, on the sleeper train from Baia Mare to Bucharest, and there were eight girls between 16 and 21 years old packed into a 6-berth cabin. That's why the cocktail became known as 'Claustrophobia'. Here it is.
Big slosh of orange vodka.
Bigger slosh of pineapple juice.
Add 7up to taste.
Mix the lot in a red wine bottle for the full flavour.
Serve garnished with hacked-up wedges of fresh watermelon.
