Questions from [livejournal.com profile] crocodilewings

1) If you could have any one classically opaque and non-brittle object cast as a fully functioning likeness in glass, what would you choose, and why?

Ooh. Possibly a harpsichord. I would have said guitar or flute, but neither of those has internal workings to speak of - although a glass flute would be very pretty indeed. A glass harpsichord would be lovely and allow you to see all the workings of the plectra and so on.

2) You have the choice of learning any one skill, instantly and perfectly. In exchange you must relinquish an existing skill you possess, although you may relearn it at the same rate you originally picked it up. What do you give and take, if any?

I think I'd take learning to sing very well, and lose, er, playing the piano. This is cheating because I picked up the piano very fast, since my entire ability on it is based on my understanding of music theory and ability to play the guitar. I would love to be able to sing *well*, instead of in the vaguely bearable way i do at the moment.

3) The mobile phone revolution has left us permanently wired into our fellow man, however we can always turn them off. If you had the choice between always being contactable whilst on the move, and never being contactable whilst on the move, which would you choose, and why?

Always. Definitely. I'd get worried otherwise, and spend a fortune on payphones.

4) You are given prior knowledge of the world's end, 24 hours before it is to occur. You cannot speak of it to anyone else, and none of them will learn of it for another 23 hours. Who do you wish to make peace with, and how do you go about doing it without revealing the approaching end?

Erk. I can't think of anyone I really want to make peace with. I mean, I'm sure there'd be people I'd just go up to or phone and say 'Look, I'm sorry I was so grumpy on Thursday, I really didn't mean it. Take care of yourself.' but I can't think of anyone with whom I have a long-standing disagreement that I'd want to patch up.

5) Given the choice of living for 80 years as an elderly and infirm woman, or for 50 years as a sprightly and youthful one, which would you choose, and why?

Hrm. I might choose 80 years' infirmity, actually, if my partner were around to be with me. If not, and it would have to be a *lonely* infirm 80 years, I'd go for the 50.

Invite me to write you questions if you like. I'll see what I can produce.

I'd quite like some questions, but I'm being very slow at answering them at the moment...
