Whooo, I'm impressed, I never realised you were half deaf! As I am too, one would think that I'd have recognised the hearing behaviour in someone else (i.e. the turning of the head to direct the better hearing ear towards the speaker, or watching someones lips when they speak). What type of hearing aid did you get, a small one or a behind-the-ear one? Just be careful if you're prone to ear infections as the humidity inside your ear can cause them. I've had mine (behind the ear) for about a year now although I rarely use it, I found that I like being able to shut the world out, and also I had to cut my hair off due to a bleaching disaster so it was showing :(
