The LJ Advisory Board election process has begun. Non-Cyrillic-language users can vote here (candidate list) before 9pm PDT of Thursday 29 May, which in British Summer Time is 5am Friday 30th. I am voting for imc, daniidebrabant and deathboy, in that order. You should vote too! Most of the candidates look pretty reasonable. The poll, as with all LJ polls, shows the percentages for each candidate at any given moment, so you can watch the election live over the next week. Pretty exciting. Currently jameth is in th lead, and I'd kind of prefer he didn't get in, so get voting, my friends!

Well, I know imc (he's a friend from Oxford, a very sensible, honest and intelligent guy) and have been in the same room as deathboy (I think) and am aware of him through Dave. daniidebrabant I don't know but another friend recommended her and I think her candidate proposal looks sensible and chimes with my interests. I did read all the candidate's posts. I think jameth is getting votes because he makes a lot of noise, I don't know why people know about him anyway, stupid photoshop annoys me, and while he says he's actually a serious candidate the stupid-photoshop side of things really obscures that. Did you put second and third choices? You can change your vote if not ;)

So can you let me into the secret? Who is he and why does he have so many fanboys? Why do so many people believe he is the troll candidate? I note he's the only candidate running who didn't make any effort to explain himself during the nominations process, though I note there's now a tiny amount of relevant info (among the dozens of macros) in his journal.

Heh, it's an LJ Draaaaaama (http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/Jameth) thing. I used to encounter him a lot on various fairly dramarific communities that I used to frequent years ago, which I think is how so many people know of him.

Just well known, I think. He has a 'fan base' (this is the best term that I can come up with) on LJ who worship everything he does and back him up in his various and frequent rows and dramas and I think everyone else who voted did so, like me, simply because they had heard of him or because they thought 'LJ = DRAMA' and so decided he was the best guy for the job.

I put more thought into proper election voting, obviously.
