Oh, and the reason the student might not say something at the outset is that it's really difficult for many people to challenge authority figures, or to find the words to say they have this kind of problem without being offensive, and without sounding moany. It's hard to back this kind of thing up and avoid simply saying 'I don't like it, so change it.'
