Even though my period has arrived and I am consequently beginning to ache, I am happy.

I have icon space, which I will be filling ASAP :)

I have taught myself TWO NEW SONGS: firstly, last night, 'The Ballad of Mary Magdalen' by Richard Shindell, which is bloody marvellous, if heretical :) I am still trying to get the off-beat phrasing right, but I have basically got the tune and general flavour, so I'm chuffed. Secondly, just now, Warren Zevon's 'Poor Poor Pitiful Me' which is a total hoot and which I desire to filk as soon as I can. :) There are actually two versions - the one linked is the one he sings, but there's one recorded by Linda Rondstadt and subsequently by Terri Clarke which is from a female perspective. I, in my happy bisexual fence-sitting way, can't choose which I'd rather learn :)

Robert cooked lunch, which was delicious pasta, and tonight we are going to the cinema and for food and then drinking for the birthday of Robert's university mate who lives down the road.

On top of all this, yesterday at work was most excellent - I finished an important document which will be sent out to the Big Client, and impressed the CEO so much he took me and my manager (his PA) out for lunch. Mmm, poached salmon. And I got paid, too, which is a very good thing indeed.

Happy me! Happy me! Happy meeeee!

I like that "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" song too. ;-) Hilarious!

I think I've only ever heard the version by Terri Clark though ... or at least I think it's Terri Clark; it sounds a lot like her. *shrugs*
