I am in Reading. I have had a marvellously relaxing day, doing almost nothing. Robert took the day off work. I stayed in bed most of the morning, and then we went into Reading for a bit of shopping and a late lunch at the Iguana (I had, as usual, the Rome sandwich, and Robert ate a Mega Breakfast). I bought three tops and some knickers and socks from Primark, and went to Fabric Land (always a startlingly expensive thing to do). I got fabric for the apron I intend to make for Changeling (though no black ready-made ruffle, sadly - I'll have to make it myself if I want one) and two different kinds of suede-effect fabric to make Shardsy things with. Robert's now out at bridge, and is going to cook something when he gets in. :)

Bother, I've just remembered I forgot to get earplugs from Boots. Aargh. Will have to go tomorrow.

I am feeling a million times calmer and happier than I was at the weekend. Just being here has made a massive difference. Yesterday I did nothing at all except mooch online, and barely got dressed - but I think I was so stressed I actually needed to stop completely, which is what I managed to do. (I barely remember yesterday, it's like a blank space in my memory.)

Tomorrow I will begin packing and organising for Shards. Robert and I will be playing the only two tribal characters present from our group, so I will have to be extra-tribal to make up for the absence of the others. :)

I forgot to say that before I left Wimbledon Hugo arrived home earlier than expected, and was wonderfully cheerful and happy and perky and lively, and cheered me up quite a bit. Also, note to self, Costa Frescato drinks are Not Nice, even if they claim to be raspberry-flavoured. They are like vanilla milkshake and you have never liked milkshake, okay?

I really value all the support I've had from friends over the last week or so - from the people I've seen in person, those who have emailed or called, and those who've commented on LJ. It has really made me feel that I'm not all by myself dealing with this - that other people genuinely do like me, and do care about me and my life. Thanks.

Bring your diary (if you have one) to Shards and we can arrange to meet up. I haven't seen you socially in far too long, and I still haven't seen your flat.

It doesn't always feel like an 'of course'. I don't see people IRL that much, as a general rule, and that's often the contact that really makes the difference to my sense of myself. The online stuff is good too, though :)

Errrrrr, I don't know what they're like. I want something I can stick in my belt with no trouble, so not something too long. Something with a hilt would be good but not essential. Whichever you like, really.

I'm busy on Sunday 12th and Robert is probably away on the 11th, so that might be less of a good plan (though I could plausibly visit you all by myself on the 11th) but the 18th/19th looks free right now. Would you like a visit? I'll check this with Robert in a minute :) We could do food and films, or listen to music, or gossip, or something!
