I still exist. I haven't done much today. Er, yesterday - I had no idea it was this late. I'm not tired at all.

However, I have started writing my Daisy story, although it is in longhand so none of the interested parties will get to see it for some while. It's going damn well so far, though. Hmm - should I put together a filter for Daisy-interested people and/or people interested in stuff and/or slashfic that I write? I'm not sure. Suggestions welcome.

Still frustrated with being stuck here unable to get on with my life.

I wish I could think of something interesting and thought-provoking to post, so people would start a discussionand I'd have something to keep thinking about. I'm having trouble thinking of anything at all to write ever.

Hmm, maybe this is something to provoke discussion. I'm planning to apply for a degree course to begin in the autumn term 2005. I have tentatively selected English as the subject. However, while I love English as a subject and read voraciously in my spare time, the thing I really, really love doing is various sorts of artwork. I dropped art as a school subject at 14, and so I have never learnt the skills needed to produce a portfolio. I don't really know how good I am, either, and I'm mostly self-taught. I keep wondering if it's worth my trying to pursue art as a degree subject, but I don't know where to start. How do I decide, and what do I do? Ideas, please!

If you like doing art that much, then I'd say it is worth pursuing a degree in it. =)

Would be interested in reading your fic when you get the urge to write it. ;-) Sounds like fun!

I'll be on the Daisy filter if you make one!

How about doing some "taster" art courses in the meantime? Reading College have some free ones, in different media, which might give you an idea as to how far you want to take it. Also, you will almost certainly need a year's art foundation course to get on an art degree.

Art foundation is good though, you get to try out a bit of everything, and see what you like. :)

Have you thought about what you hope to achieve out of doing a degree? That might well inform the choice of subject...

I really enjoyed my AS level art, and I think that had I been considering going on to do a degree, it would have helped me make up my mind.

If you do have a Daisy or fiction filter, I'd like to be on it please!

Please include me in any Daisy/fiction filters you set up.

If you have a Daisy-filter, please can I be on it? *smile*

I'd advise art over English, but that's just someone who didn't enjoy her English degree all that much talking...

[livejournal.com profile] evil_nick did AS art, and should be able at least to advise on portfolio putting-together. I'll see what else I can find out. *smiles*
