Art Market

TODAY, Saturday, I am having a stall at the Art Market at the Rising Sun Arts Centre on Silver Street in Reading. The doors open at 10.30 and the event finishes at 4.30. There will be lots of fabulous things to buy - there are usually lots of paintings and drawings, many in small sizes ideal for presents, really fantastic photography, probably some clothes or textiles or similar, small clay pots and figure - and, of course, my jewellery. I have, although I say it myself, got some raaaaaather nice things to sell, at extremely reasonable prices (a spot cheaper than last time, for those who came in April!) You know you would like to come and say hello to me and maybe buy something as a Christmas present, right? Even if you have no money and can't stand beads, if you happen to be in the town centre do come and say hello as I will probably be quite bored for large chunks of the day. I'll have my phone if you need to call for any reason - friendslocked contact details are linked from my user info.

Psst - [livejournal.com profile] ladyfrances! I might need a hand either about 10am or around lunchtime - the first for setting up and the second for, er, actually acquiring some lunch. Could you give me a call when you see this? I'll call you at some point myself :)

Kopete IM problems

I am getting really pissed off. Our internet connection is slow at the moment, but I can load things I want to load 90% of the time, and it's all usable if not fantastic. EXCEPT that I am having huge enormous problems with Google Talk and MSN Messenver via Kopete (running on Debian Linux, on KDE). I have just updated everything and it's not helping. The Google Talk problem is less serious - it does actually connect sometimes and work. MSN either does not connect at all, no matter how often I try, or, when it does deign to show up as connected, it will not deliver any messages - anything I send comes back with a 'was not delivered correctly' message, and I don't get any messages from others. LJ Jabber, ICQ and Yahoo all seem to work ok, but MSN and GTalk have by far my largest number of contacts and I really want to get them working. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be about?
