I have put up my blind as well!
Ages ago my mother bought me a plain natural cotton Roman blind (the vertical ones which make horizontal folds as you pull them up) because I had been complaining about the curtains here (old, grubby, not very attractive, and too long for the windows). I have had it sitting about in its bag in the dining-room for at least a year. Yesterday, when doing the shelves, I took down the curtains from the window in front of which is my desk; now I have taken down the track, found the right drill bit, drilled holes in the wall for the hooks for the blind, found rawlplugs the right size, put them in, screwed in the hooks, hung the blind, checked it works, and installed a third hook near the second shelf up to hook the cord onto. It looks great, and now I won't have to deal with the old curtains dragging on my desk and getting in the way any more!
This house is not going to stay messy and nasty forever - I can change things :)
I might actually take a photo of how it looks now, before I put things on the shelves; Robert's camera is downstairs. Not sure how to get pictures off it, though, so if I do take one it won't go up for a while.
