Phew.

Just called up again about the medical receptionist job - spoke to the Practice Manager this time. Got asked a few questions about my previous experience. She seemed pleased I had called back as she had tried to get hold of me once and failed. I think I was talking too quickly. But anyway, she's posting me a form tonight. The job's 19/20 hours per week, both mornings and afternoons in a pattern which would eventually settle down. It will have to be faaaaaairly well-paid for me to go for it, but I haven't any info on the pay as yet.

Must sort out my reference from last job. Email. Next task.

If you have done or are doing a degree, how did you choose your subject? How did you work out it was the right one for you? Were you sure before you started that it would be something you would really enjoy studying and at which you would do well?

Please talk to me about subject choice.

(Context: I am looking at the Reading English department's page outlining the course, and I'm nervous; I haven't studied English for four years, since A-level, and I don't know how to tell if I'll enjoy the modules on offer.)

I rock.

Today so far, I have called and requested an application form for a job; I have emailed my frmer manager about a reference; I have emailed New College about transferring credit from my course there; I have requested a University of Reading 2005 prospectus via the website; I have looked up the details of the English degree at Reading.

I'm not dressed yet, but I think the above is not bad going. Next I need to do some serious BSL revision, some laundry, and a music-themed papercut, in that order.
