Why do you come here / When you know I've got troubles enough?
Friday, 30 July 2004 11:46 pmSo I got myself somewhat obsessed with 'The Weakness in Me' which is a Joan Armatrading song that Melissa Etheridge (who is so deeply sexy it's not true) covered last weekend. I have the mp3 thanks to Robert, and I can now play and sing 80% of it fairly plausibly. I need to check the last couple of verses. Purr. It is a very pleasing song. I must stop singing it, everyone is going to bed.
Tomorrow is BUSY.
Robert will turn up before dawn (well, 9.30am) and whisk me off on the tube to Denmark Street in London where all the guitar shops hide. He is going to prevent me spending all my not-interest-free-any-more overdraft on guitars and harps and dulcimers and zithers and flutes and drums and concertinas and lovely lovely things. *pout* I think I will allow myself to spend up to £30 in general, and up to £50 if I see an instrument that I really really want - Hobgoblin has a basic mandolin for that. Not that I necessarily want a mandolin, to be honest. I really would like a small harp, though :) or a decent wooden flute. Those would be pricier, though...
So, there's that. Then we're going to Highgate for lunch with my godmother & family at 1. MUST MAKE SURE I HAVE HER ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER. It should be fun. Then we're off to do some other shopping, and then to Kake's in the evening. So I will be out ALLLLL day. I don't think I will take any lyric sheets with me. I'm sure I can remember enough things to sing if anyone wants to.
My stomach is being unkind to me. I have been fine for about two months without the medication, but it looks like I'll have to start taking the pills again, dammit.
I did laundry today! No bedroom-tidying, but LAUNDRY! Clean clothes! It's marvellous.
Anyway, bed shortly. Thank you all for being so nice in comments recently - apologies for not responding in a timely fashion.
