I've made a really nice pair of pierced earrings; faceted iridescent 'crystal' beads, with a centre consisting of a silver rose-shaped bead. But I can't wear them, and I'm not sure who I know who'd wear them who has a gift-giving occasion soon :) Suggestions welcome.
I'm doing well on other craft stuff too; started my first cross-stitch piece the other day, and I do understand hw it works and what to do, though I could probably stand to ask Amanda for tips. Also some really nice beaded bracelets and so on with some new techniques I worked out and looked up. S'fun. I'm tempted to make my Mage character someone who wears flamboyanf jewellery, but I'm not sure that kind of extrovert is what I want to play. Must meet with Michael to talk this one over. I can see myself becoming a costume bunny (hello neve-chan!).
John is buying a cd writer this afternoon, which we're going to share for a while at least. So my disk-space problems are solved, as are my party-music-playing issues. Once I get the 3.6 GB of Sailor Moon off my hard disk, I'll have tons of space to play with converting my mp3 playlists to wav files, and working on projects I put on hold months ago, like my KiSS doll. That got postponed ages ago, when Photoshop ceased to be able to cope with the file sizes. My art stuff has been seriously hampered lately, hence the outlets into webdollz and desktop patterns. Art pages at Pendragon.
Anyway, that's one piece of techy-kit sorted. Next targets; scanner; graphics tablet; printer. Not in that order.
Ironically, getting a portable mp3 player may stimulate me to buy more cds, since I can now use them in more versatile formats, convert them to mp3, and mix the tracks with other music. Interesting.
I'm still thinking about theme ideas for PARTY. I've had a fair number of emails saying 'Sorry, have exams/family/important stuff on, have a nice time!' which is fine, you know, but only a few people saying yes. It'd be nice to know if more than three or four people are planning to turn up :)
Oh yeah; I was tempted by the anime/school uniform side of things, but then I thought 'hey, my parents are going to be lending a hand with this party' and also 'girls in school uniform are cute, but I have nothing even resembling an interest in schoolboys'. Schoolgirls and male teachers with canes would be really too kinky, and wouldn't even be quite my thing anyway ;) Anime might work though, but I'd feel compelled to finish my Sailor V outfit, which ought to take longer because of the skirt issues. Hmm.
Anyway, I took this morning off work again, because I felt exhausted and really sick and actually had no clothes to wear, mostly because I am a complete moron, I admit. So I made a strategic sick-call, ate food, which perked me up a bit (though I still feel marginally weird) and have been doing serious useful things like laundry, bleaching teatowels, and starting in on my hell of a bedroom again. I want to be able to invite people round, dammit!
Next up is a trip to Tescos, before I get ravenously hungry again.
Wow, that was - so interesting. I'll stop rambling about my life now and go shopping, woo.
MUST BUY TIGHTS. MUST NOT BUY SMALLEST SIZE AGAIN.
