I am clearing my life up. I have one large box of books, one very large box of clothes, and one large box of miscellaneous stuff which I am getting RID OF. They are for the most part in perfectly good condition, and it's infuriating to me that I cannot sell the things as I am in desperate need of the money, but I haven't the time or the know-how to realise it. It's terribly, terribly annoying. Also, Cancer Research UK, the place I'd like to donate them, can't pick them up and I can't get them there and I'm starting to think I'm going to have to put the lot on Freecycle, which would seem like something of a waste. GAAAAAAAAAH.

There exist places that will take your stuff, sell it on eBay, and give you a cut of the proceeds.

I have no idea how I'd find such a place that would pick my stuff up inside a week. Any tips?

A Google for 'ebay sell' came up with three ads.

Whether or not it's worth it depends on how valuable the stuff is. You may be better off with an ad in the local paper.

It's the time factor that makes this so hard. I can't do a local-paper ad in time. I am likely to have to be out of this house in a week, so ideally I need this stuff gone in the next three days. *sigh*

Hmm, Googling suggests such places want items that will sell for significant amounts, £30 or more. Most of my stuff won't make that.

Might have to. Also, Cara is a seasoned Ebay seller and might do it for me. Also, some of the clothes are originally hers :)

I think I will have to divide it into 'definitely worth somehting' and 'only to my friends or charity shop' and work on that basis. But it's more TIME. Gah.

If's an amount of stuff that will bring in $$$ I think it's worth doing that. Marie can help with ebaying, she's an expert if you want to talk to her about it. :)

Yes, I think I know which box they are in (it's one I haven't opened yet in this round of sorting) - they are safe, and next time you are in Reading you can of course have them back. Though I might need reminding which is the one of the three that you gave me, and which are the two on loan :)
