Yumpty-yumpty-yumpty-yum, yumpty-yum, yumpty-yum...

This is the 'Lucy Is Eating Tasty Grapes' song. It is believed to be a derivative work based on the 'Lucy Is Hoiking Things Up The Stairs' song, which goes

Humpty-humpty-humpty-hum, humpty-hum, humpty-hum...

You may notice the similarity.

Said songs are heard only in very specific circumstances; not only must the Lucy be (respectively) eating tasty grapes or hoiking things up the stairs, she must be happy while so doing. These are rare occurrences, to be savoured and enjoyed by the intrepid anthropologist.

And only another 24 possible letters of the alphabet to find activity-based variants of the first two.. :D

(There must be a linguistic name for them, but I don't know it.)

no; "st" is not a phoneme, it's two phonemes stuck together.

This is a song that [livejournal.com profile] smallclanger would probably like, although in his case it is more likely to be Petits Filous than grapes.

Presumably the Lucy is more often happy in the former than the latter circumstance?
