Firefox on MacOSX is having trouble loading my LJ. Not the web in general, not other people's LJs - just mine. And not all the time either. I have no idea why this is and it's really pissing me off. Thoughts, anyone? It's a 'cannot find server taimatsu.livejournal.com' thing.

LJ is split across multiple servers, so it could be that your journal is on a server that is having problems on LJ side, and none of the other journals you've checked are. No issues reported on their status page though. That error suggests something wrong in DNS, often DNS problems fix themselves so waiting a while before bothering to spend much effort hunting it down is probably a good idea.

Also, many browsers (including at least some versions of Firefox) cache DNS, so it's always worth trying a browser restart after seeing a DNS problem.

I agree with this comment.

Shift-F5 to force a reload. Usually timeout issues that appear only in one browser (Try opera as well) are caused by server's sending/generating pages based on browser string (see microsofts pages.) Also you can try toggling the ad/status bar thing or the theme modes since those are javascript. If you have the 'ads' running, it could be the ad stalling. This happens on virtually every site with ads where the ad serving host stalls out.
