I can hear again!

I went to the audiology drop-in clinic this morning to pick up my new earmould, and so I'm wearing my hearing-aid again! Everything is all loud and audible and marvellous! It's great :)

On that note, I'm organising a finger-spelling/deaf awareness activity for Brownies on Monday, so I'll be spending part of the weekend practising my (very rusty) BSL.

I'm off for my final bit of teeth-fixing this afternoon - I'm really looking forward to getting the whole thing finished.

I am terribly boring. :)

I got a brand new hearing aid from audiology last week. Their computer had never heard of my appointment so I had to wait ages to be coughed at by some old guy while they found someone who was qualified to dispense my type of aid.

Still new hearing aid works well, hasn't taken me too long to acclimatise to it...

Are you not doing BSL stage 2 classes still? If you want some web resources check out http://www.barakta.org.uk/bsl_resources.shtml I tend to update it quite a lot to keep the crap sites out and the good ones in.

I haven't kept up with the level 2 - I was doing it last year but I was taking two other classes at the same time, and it all got too much. Also, I found the teacher rather unapproachable and intimidating, and the pace was too fast for me (as I'd had a year off after level 1). I will go back to it, but not till I go back to university, I think. Website looks *really* handy, though, thank you :)
