Big plans for today seem to be finishing the RACC job application, and then cleaning the kitchen, but I rather need to get dressed first and I haven't managed that yet.

We started putting together the wardrobe yesterday, and it's going pretty well. It just fits into the space we have for it (not a millimetre of wiggle-room) and all we have left to do is fit the doors and the drawers, and add the hanging-rail. We have only made a couple of mistakes so far, none very serious, and there have been no major injuries.

I have ordered a book from Amazon, which is nice; I decided I wanted to treat myself. It's 'Geisha of Gion' by Mineko Iwasaki, which is autobiography.

Now, clothing, clothing is good. Then I will phone the woman at RACC about the car thing; if they say it is 100% essential I won't spend several hours and lots of angst on a pointless form.

November plans

I seem to be plotting some cultural whatsits in London in mid-november. 11-15 November there's 'Raise the Red Lantern' at Sadler's Wells, which is a Chinese ballet I'm very interested in seeing. On 15 November, which is a Saturday, Niamh Parsons is playing Hammersmith and Fulham Irish Centre. Now she is just fabulous - I heard her a while back when she sang at the Purcell Room, and my dad and I both really enjoy her music. In fact, I'll email him that link now.

So that's a Friday and Saturday evening. I wonder what else I could do that weekend?
